From December 2017 to February 2018, the Polar Research Center of Jilin University sent members to participate in the site investigation of the Antarctic Blue Ice Airport during 34^th CHINARE. Based on high-resolution satellite images, the route design and on-site scientific investigation of potential "blue ice" areas in Antarctica were carried out, and the hardness measurement of snow and firn surface, shallow ice core drilling and analysis were carried out. The route from the "blue firn area" to the "blue ice area" was evaluated, and the safe route to the blue ice area was given. The on-site investigation work provided theoretical and experimental support for China's future construction of the Antarctic wheeled aircraft take-off and landing runway.
